MY HAIR.

Who wants to watch my hair grow? Seriously! I cut it off in early May 2010.

For a long time, I loved it chemically straightened. But then I started to wonder what it would be like to have the texture I was born with, hair I haven't seen since I was twelve. My family and black people I know, seem to equate puberty with straightened hair. At twelve I was only just learning to comb the natural texture of my hair and then it was gone.

So I cut it off myself one night in early May, and when I looked in the mirror the morning after, it was sort of scary, humbling, and thankfully, mostly everyone was really really supportive.

No regrets here.
